Northfield Academy is a school committed to supporting every pupil’s wellbeing and success. The school nurtures an inclusive environment where every young person can flourish and achieve. These values align closely with our mission of All Life Chances and so we were delighted to partner with the school.
Support Required
Recognising the need for a dedicated Quiet Zone within the school, staff members set out to create a safe, calming space for those pupils who sometimes feel overwhelmed in busy social settings. To bring this vision to life, the team sought financial support to help furnish and equip the area, ensuring it would be a welcoming retreat for those who need it most.
Support Provided
The Bon Accord Centre reached out to All Life Chances with a creative fundraising opportunity: a four-day climbing wall event, with participants making a donation in order to take part. All Life Chances spoke to the Northfield Academy team, who jumped at the chance to get involved. Staff, parents, and even ex-pupils volunteered their time over a weekend, supporting climbers and collecting funds. Thanks to their incredible effort and community spirit, in total, the event raised over £1,100 was raised, which went directly towards furnishing the Quiet Zone.
Impact
The new Quiet Zone is already having a positive impact on the pupils who need it most. It provides a peaceful environment where students can recharge, fostering their emotional wellbeing and supporting their ability to engage fully in school life, while developing their social skills.
Working In Partnership
At All Life Chances, we believe partnerships are crucial when it comes to successful outcomes, and we were therefore delighted to connect Northfield Academy and the Bon Accord Centre. This collaboration exemplifies what can be achieved when communities come together to support each other.
Partnerships are key for All Life Chances and so we were delighted to be able to introduce the teaching staff at Northfield Academy to representatives from Bon Accord.
