Enermech Nurtures Partnership with Northfield Academy

Northfield Academy has announced a significant boost to its Nurture Shop and food bank services following a generous monetary donation from global engineering company EnerMech.

The contribution comes at a crucial time, enabling the school to expand its support for local families experiencing financial hardship and food insecurity. The Nurture Shop, a key initiative within the academy, provides essential food supplies and resources to pupils and their families, helping to ensure no one in the community goes without.

Katie Andrews, School Service Manager at Northfield Academy, highlighted the importance of the donation and the tangible difference it is making:
“Northfield Academy would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for EnerMech's generous monetary donation to our Nurture Shop. Their support has made a significant impact in our community, allowing us to enhance our food bank resources.

“With EnerMech’s contribution, we have been able to increase the number of food parcels we distribute each week. This assistance is vital for many local families who rely on our services during challenging times. The backing we receive from companies like EnerMech is crucial in helping us continue our mission to support those in need.
 

“We thank EnerMech once again for their kindness and commitment to our community.”

Northfield Academy student Lexi led the Enermech team on a tour of the school, giving them a first-hand look at the positive impact of their funding. Highlights of the tour included a visit to the Nurture shop and the ‘Quiet Club’, an adapted classroom that provides students with a welcoming space to access support, take some time out or grab something to eat.  

EnerMech’s involvement is part of its wider community engagement programme, delivered in collaboration with All Life Chances, a local initiative focused on improving outcomes for young people across Aberdeen.
